With pontoons you can control the boat with fins attached to your feet, while you use two hands to fly fish. Most pontoons give you easy out in access. Find a shallow spot, move off the seat stand up, right in the middle of the boat, fish, then get back on the seat to keep going. Canoes are much more streamlined for traveling distance. Toons are much more stable when standing. Trolling motors can be attached to both.

Good God! Those smallies are more explosive than the large mouths we got here in Texas.

I’m new to all this boat stuff but whats the difference between pontoon boats and a canoe?

  4. iampieforlife says:

Its called a pontoon boat and that one cost around 1600 but if anyone is thinking of buying one try a single man pontoon boat or a float tube.

smallies are fun to catch. they fight pretty good.

  8. lilrapala says:

what are u catching them on

  9. XFactorGoalie1 says:

You could catch little trout on an 8 weight. You wouldnt feel the fight as much but you could still get them in easy enough without horsing them. Just let your rod tip do the work

  10. mnflyfishing says:

If your small trout are not the size of King Salmon, then you have too much rod. 3-5 wts are good small trout rods.

i have a question for you. i have an 8 weight rod, is it possible to catch small trouts with it or would it have to much power?

    nice action

13′ foot, 19″ I believe. I have the bladderless version. The 20″ toons might be for the next sizes up, like the 14′9 x2 and X3. I have the extra frame to use as 3 man and works great on this boat, you lose some storage though. Thanks.

  14. xcunnerx says:

thanks i will deffinatly try that.

  15. mnflyfishing says:

Clouser minnows 2″-3″ long. Stained rivers I go with bright colors or solid black, depending on the clouds/sun. I like to use weighted flies when fishing subsurface because it gets the fly down to the fishes level quicker, especially for short deep pools. Each body of water is different, so don’t be afraid to experiment until you find something that works.

  16. xcunnerx says:

wat fly are you using? i got a river close to me just loaded with smallies i think im gonna try fly fishing for them their

Horrible audio. Next time, have your camera man on another boat, using an attached mic with a sound dampener on the mic. Also, record the sound seperately and you will be able to edit it better.

  18. mnflyfishing says:

We got it in, but the footage didn’t look right, I blame the camera man :)

What happened to the one that was swimming under the boat?
