gosh no. you can use spining rods, casting rods, countless diffrent methods, however, fly fishing may be the most efective.

its a lot of fun, but takes a lot of practice. My dad taught me how, but if no one you know fly fishes, you should get a book, read about it online, or find a guide that will take you, becuase youll definately need to know a little about what youre doing before you actually try it.

it depends, a lot of times, you let it just smack the wwater, then flip it up and land it in a different place, then after a couple times of doing that you let it rest for about 10-20 seconds. (this is the way i do it, but there are a ton of techniques. you can pretty much do whatever you feel will work)

its a top-floating lure, and you basically repeatedly throw it at the water to make it look like a bug that fell in. the fish bites it, you set the hook, and puul it in

awsome I went fishing a week ago and caught a 12 rainbow trout on my fly rod.

Your dad has my sympathy. Some of us economically successful but drioven dads who have too much work to do to go fishing buy stuff from the catalogies instead of going fishing.

You could fly fish in windy weather but if it gets too windy sometimes it is pretty hard to fly cast.
my dad has had a fly fishing rod for about 8 years now and we have never ever had the chance too use it
Can u still fly fish in windy conditions??
Im not sure about anyone else but fly fishing is 10 times better than normal fishing and it actual takes skills to do.
