Chad Black Spey Fly Fishing Tip #1

Chad Black is a pro fly caster and is happy to show you some of his “tips and techniques” for the spey fly rod. In this segment he explains and shows:

- the rod and reel he chose to use today
- sink tips of different weights
- skeena river spey steelhead flies
- action of the fly in the water
- via demonstration the basic “double spey” cast
- pic of nice steelhead landed today (See video clip #0048 on my website)
- pic of fly box
- ALWAYS wear your “wading belt” for safety. As a bonus it creates a “pouch” to store your fishing tackle.

Stay tuned for more of Chad’s “tips and techniques” coming soon.

Chad is also the operations manager for a major fishing lodge based out of Terrace BC Canada. He is also a fishing guide.

Actually it is all a myth. Jump in a swimming pool with your waders and try to make them hold you down. The old Rubber waders were bad, but not the new ones.

    Chad Black.

I saw Chad fly tying at Grand River Troutfitters, in Fergus Ontario, in Canada.

    Great fly tier!

  5. fruwluam says:

A knife will not help you as you can’t cut off the shoes! You need a floating vest!

  6. fubarr11 says:

because if you fall in your waders will fill up with wader faster. if your wading a large river u should carry a knife with u just in case u run into a situation when ur waders fill up with water and ur drowning u can cut free of ur waders. the wading belts also help with back fatique.

    Hey, good video.

Why always wear the wading belt?
