If you were out on a resevoir fishing one day with your family. One side of the reservoir is privite land owned by family members and people you know. The other side of the lake is owned buy the county water authority. You have your back to the bank of the side owned by the county and you hear a sound. The sound is like something flying past your head and then something hitting the water. There is not really a spash to see in the water cause what ever it was was small. You look to the bank but see nothing, you are not the only one in the boat to hear it. You move up the lake and everything in fine. On the way back you pass the same area. This time from the woods you just hear a click. I was not the only one in the boat to hear it. You move along swiftly without another sound. It is like someone is in the woods next to the lake. Must be in camo and don’t move. I do not have a gun or anything with me so I have no way to fire back. If this is a family and favorite spot do you go back?
if you like being shot at, then go ahead, be my guest, but in all seriousness NO.
Well going back to fish wouldn’t be too smart if they indeed did fire at you. The question was – were they firing at you or just something else and the shot went past you. Either way not a great place if people are wanting you gone enough to fire a gun at you or not careful and firing in your direction. If you are sure you were fired at did you report it to the authorities? If not I would strongly suggest that you do to prevent someone else from being shot.
call the cops because if that is county land then noone should be shooting at you to get off of it. and if they dont find anything next time you go out,
bring a gun that will make a splash
Well I would know that I’ve crossed the border into the US (should of brought a GPS!). As a rule I try to avoid countries where you can legally shoot at other people! Try Canada next time! Better fishing too!
nah forget about that spot their are pleanty of other spots to find where people won’t try to pop a cap in yo A double $$. try fishing the bank I’m sure no one will see you or even mind across the reservoir. Just try not to make a lot of noise whilest there.
O woould first contact the law and see if hunting is legal in that area. I would report to them your experience at the lake. It may have been an accident. Or it may have been someone trying to protect their fishing spot. Either way the law should be involved. If it is someone protecting their fishing spot the law may be able to find them. And stop them from doing it again. If there is no hunting permitted they will get inn touch with the DNR and let them know someone is hunting illegally or just plain shooting at people.
And by the way, for that guy from Canada. It’s not legal to shoot at people here either. But it is legal to own a gun here. If I’m not mistaken, there are shooting deaths in Canada also.
Didn’t your top lawmaker just decide that a mandatory 7 year prison term for gun crimes is no good because of the prison and courtroom crowding? This is in a country where handguns are illegal? Hmmmm thats something to think about there Mr. Canuck. And by the way the fishing there isn’t all that either. You have some great places to fish up there. BUT, my Canadian friends always come here to fish. Why do you think that is?
call the dnr
well you could sit there and call the game warden and wait for the next slug like JOHN_CLIMBS and any one else willing to have there primary source of personal protection TAKEN from them like a child, OR you could shoot back at 7 rounds per second like we do in TEXAS
Sure I’ll go back… And I’ll bring the Law along and maybe a few from the media… Turn it into a circus…
Just another reason why i always carry a gun when I am in the outdoors, Not to defend against wildlife but to defend myself from assh–les like that.
